Sustainability Week Pop Up Shop
Tuesday 27th February 2024
Harrison Hughes Building

Join our student led Circular Economy Project team for their pop-up shop as part of Sustainability Week 2024.

After the triumph of their initial pop-up shop in November, we're thrilled to announce another edition during the university's Sustainability Week. The team have designed and 3D printed a diverse selection of products using recycled plastic collected on campus, closing the circular loop by selling items back to students, thus establishing a circular economy. Explore the full range, from bottle openers to phone stands, all offered at fantastic value. Join us in making a sustainable impact – don't miss this opportunity!

All proceeds donated to ACSIL.

Our first Pop-up shop!

Join us on Thursday, 12th October for our first pop-up shop. We will be selling a range of products, designed and 3D printed by the team from recycled plastic. This pop-up shop closes the loop by selling products back to the students from waste collected on campus. Hence creating a circular economy. Don't miss this chance to make a sustainable impact!

Sustainability Fair

The University of Liverpool Sustainability Team, in partnership with the Liverpool Guild of Students are hosting the University’s first ever Sustainability Week from 20th - 28th February.

As part of the University’s Feel Good February program, Sustainability Week kicks off on Monday 20 February, from 10am-4pm with a Sustainability Fair in Mountford Hall, Guild of Students. Here, a range of businesses, academics, internal and external teams will be showcasing their sustainable projects and achievements, ready to engage with students, staff and the general public.

Our team will have a stand to show off our project and the products we will be selling.

Come and join us to find out more! We'll have a drop off point to collect your plastic waste so please bring along any plastic recycling you can.

Creative Plastics Recycling Workshop

Come on a little plastic adventure with Plastic Tactics in Abercromby Square on Tuesday 21 February from 12pm-1pm. Shred, melt and make using our low-tech equipment to turn scrappy plastic into colourful new things. We will be doing a short talk and a demonstration making carabiners, which you can take home!

If you would like, bring a small amount of clean bottle tops to shred and melt into something brand new - potentially even some from the independently-organised litter pick around Smithdown Road earlier on the day. Otherwise, use some of the community-sourced bits we have collected and cleaned ready for you to explore.

Some of the team will be joining Plastic Tactics to help turn your waste into something new!
